Why should I buy a home in a slow market or a buyer's market.

 

  1. Selection, lots to select from. There are over 32,000 single-family homes for sale and 15,000 condominiums for sale in Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire. For most price ranges there are plenty of houses or condominiums to choose from. There are fewer buyers to compete with at this time.
  2. Location, location, location. Today in a buyer's market you can find more homes closer to where you work, schools, transportation, and relatives.
  3. No bidding wars. In today's buyer's market there is a higher probability you will not be competing in a bidding war with another competing buyer.
  4. Reasonable offers can be made. Today reasonable offers bellow asking price will most likely not offend a reasonable seller.
  5. Patience is tolerated. In a buyer's market a you can look at several homes and without pressure think about your decision for a few hours.
  6. Concession and repair requests are welcome. In a buyer's market you can ask the seller for financial concessions like the seller paying for your closing costs and/or pay points to reduce your loan interest rate. After a completed home inspection you can submit a repair request to the seller.
  7. Mortgage companies are competing for your business. You can shop around for the best rate and terms as the various mortgage companies are competing for fewer buyers.
